Second in a series of seasonal "views," this etching views a farm from a hillside, with trees displaying the brilliant colors of fall. In the foreground, sumac leaves have turned red, corn has been gathered into shocks, and the laundry is hung on the line to dry in the sun. A fox, chipmunks, rabbits and cardinals are among the wildlife that can be found, along with a V of geese flying south. A farmer plows a field in the distance. Tiny names and scriptures are scribed into the copper plate. |
