First in a series of seasonal "views," this etching overlooks a farm with a horse in the corral, pigs in a pen and chickens on the loose. The red-shuttered farm house has a backyard clothesline and a doghouse. On the hillside, foxes, ground squirrels, rabbits and birds busy themselves with the work of spring. A hawk patrols the landscape for some careless creature as a spring storm brews in the distance. Tiny scriptures and family names are scribed into the copper plate. |
