Winter Hearth |

This etching is the first in a proposed series of rural interiors, each to represent a different season. The scene is filled with the warmth of a fire on a wintry night, the evening snow visible through the window, and the anticipation of Christmas morning not far away. It is also the first etching I was able to create since the sudden death of my husband Dennis in June of 2007. Scriptures can be found in many places, as well as many names of family and friends, hidden in the wallpaper and tucked into curtains and woodwork. This is one of the most complex images to handcolor. |
